Solar Power Dance Clinic

 

 

So Today was the Solar Power Dance Clinic-an event that i personally look forward to ALL SUMMER. Unfortunately, the team lost, but OMG, dancing at halftime was AMAZING. and i didn't even mess up...too much. :D the Solar Power Dance Team even teaches us for the two hours before, which is cool.

 

 

So at introduction, all the people from the Dance team lined up and introduced themselves

 

Alright, i was bored, so i took, My picture, and put it in line with the Solar Power Dance Team's.

After the show, the Girls even signed POSTERS for us with pictures of all of them

 

These are some of the girls who participated. The group wasn't really close, but I like to think we all had fun. Some girls were even competitive dancers. I honestly felt a little intimidated but i tried not to let it bother me too much, you know?

So The Solar Power Dance Team, as I mentioned, were our teachers. here they are doing their own routine.

 

This is the Solar Power Dancers introducing the Basketball Players. The place goes COMPLETELY dark except for their little glowsticks, which they dance with. It's supremely cool.

 

 This is The Dancers on the Sidelines, getting the Crowd Pumped. They are really good dancers and really nice People too.

I'm really glad i got the opportunity to Dance at the Clinic and at halftime, and to learn from such great teachers. I hope i'll go back next year. If you are into dance, or even just want to play around with it a little bit, you should check out the Dance Clinic too. It really is a great opportunity, and the price isn't bad, plus you get to stay for the game!

A Bit of Photography

So, having found my old camera, and then graduating to my new one, i took some photos this summer. Just thought it'd be cool to share them. they are actualyl pretty neat, if not a bit cliche.

 So this is me, black and white. It actually looks cooler than i expected. My New Camera, which i didn't expect to look as cool as it did, or to create any neat photos, actually did

My Mom LOVES this photo. its an Ice Cream Barn, but i framed it and made it Sepia-this was on my old camera- and, well, you can see for yourself how nice the effect came out. I Took this on the way to pick up my Sister from Camp

Okay, this was pulling into my sister's camp. it looks kind of older, at least to me, even though it's recent, i really like the picture. This one was also on my Old camera, which, if you're wondering, ate up batteries, which is why i had to get rid of it. :( But again, the effect cannot be argued with.

So this is the sky. I've always had a soft spot for pink in the sky, and clouds that look like spun sugar. I've also always had a poets soul, or so i've been told.

 

 

 

 

So thats a sample of my photography. They aren't too good, but i mean, i'm still learning. It's fun to take pictures, for me, that's kidna my thing, is taking random pictures. Just not "selfies", which seems to be a teenage staple. what is with that anyway? Well, that's another topic for a later time. ENjoy the photos? Let me know!

Missoula Children's Theater

Missoula Children's Theater Is a weeklong program. They coordinate a show, they've been coming to the subase Youth Center for at least a few years now. this year, i helped Ms. Sue with some Music Stuff. It was great

 

So this is The Cast from this years Show, The Frog Prince. The Kids had a week to prepare-they did it in FOUR DAYS. Amazing, huh? The set behind them? Also Ah-May-Zing. They were like curtains that were pulled to change from the forest to the castle, and it really felt different even when you know from rehearsal, its just a curtain

These are our Princess, Princess Prim (in light blue, the main character) Princess Proper, (in pink) and Princess Preppy (in the red stockings) They were so funny-on and off the stage. And Erin, who played Princess Prim, was funny, a great actress, and you should have heard her pick up on the riddles we played with the kids.

This was before our first show. The kids were really edgy. It went Okay though. They even had makeup and professional lights.

Backstage before the first show. it was kind of quiet, even though none of the kids were over thirteen. Most of them weren't even like 10 or 11.

So that's my Week with Missoula Children's theater. I hope they Come Back Next Year. It was Such a great expirience, and one i won't soon forget. I learned so much, and i think i came to love Missoula in a week, as much as i came to loved CCT in two years...

The Best People in The World

So Not Everyone would let me take a picture of them. But i got a few. they were the best group of people you could EVER work with, and i totally loved working at the CDC, msotly thanks to them.

So this is Ms. Ashley B. and Ms. Nicole, who were probably my best Teachers. For real. Not Lying. They were so nice, so patient, so freaking Amazing, and i learned a whole LOT from them. i don't think i can thank them enough for everything they did to make me feel welcome at CDC4 this summer. They worked in Pre-Toddlers, (the 1-2 year olds)

 This is Ms. Jordan, one of the two friendly Faces in Toddlers 1-4 (the room, not the age group) Toddlers are 2, to abotu 3, years of age. An age group that takes a lot of patience.

 This is ms. kendra. She took care of the whoel CDC this summer when it came to food. She was also one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. She always was willing to stop and tlak, or smile, or whatever. everyone at the CDC Loves her.

On the left is Ms. Michelle. she's a team lead. That means, she's even higher than the blue-shirts. The blue-shirts are above the reds, based on clearance. The reds are above me, because I'm purple.Ms. Marilyn, on the right, she's my boss, she's above the team leads too. She's very smiley, as you can see, and the Kids absolutely love her. She's our friendly face every single morning.

 


  So This is Ms. Ashley F., Mr. Nate, and Ms. Amber, who were all in PreSchool One. We had three preschools, spread out between two of the three buildings. They were so patient with me, which is good, because, like every class, they saw a lot of me. Also, working with an older group of Kids, it would have been hard to deal with yet another face in the room, huh?

This is Ms. Dawn, always the last face i said good-bye to in the afternoon after my shift. She was super-friendly, and, as you can see, had a nice smile.

So that's all for the Amazing people of The CDC. I hope I'll get to go back and visit again, and maybe even work there again next summer. it really was a very supportive environment to work in. So I mean, i can't really say this summer could have gone any better. The worst part of it all, was knowing it would end.

Working at The Child Development Center

So I work at the Child Development Center-and I have a really great group of people to work with. Everyone there is so nice! They are all really great teachers, both to me, and the little kids. I didn't think this summer would have gone so well if They hadn't taught me so much, and I can only hope I left an imprint on them too.

So this is the Staff Lounge, where I usually slept before and After my shift. We had a fridge, a colorful announcement board, and, as you'd learn from more than one day at the CDC, the signature Sink, which is in Every Single Room.

The toddlers Pre-toddlers, and Preschoolers are an artistic group. These are some pictures hanging in the hall. It really brightens the place up!

ELHS fifth Annual Spectacular

What Event in East Lyme High School is hosted by Miranda Muguvro and Anthony Patrone, features hilarious film footage, music acts, and some of the biggest stars and bands in East Lyme? None other than the fifth annual East Lyme Spectacular. And may i say, it was a night. So here are some of my customary photos from, what i'm sure is too many, a memorable evening.

Ok, so let me qualify this by saying, a) i was NOT in a great spot. b) i am not a natural born photographer and c) it was on my ipod, in the auditorium, in the Dark.

So the band Hands Down, a local and hometown favorite, was there. Which may not seem to be a big deal, but it is. a HUGE deal, especially in our school. They are all seniors now, so it's an even BIGGER deal. Cody Waites, Jack England, (Yes, the same mentioned in the Prom Fashion Show, yes, the same as Kaley Robert's Boyfriend) Nick Cancelmo, and Aaron Maddux are on the Stage for the finale. 

And Look who Joins the Party. Emily Young, easily East Lyme's Youngest rising star. She has the most amazing voice. She did an Adele song better than Adele. She was also in East Lyme's Legally Blonde production. She even auditioned for American Idol. She graced our stage for her own performance, one with Hands Down, and for the finale. The quality of this photo does her no justice, but she was AMAZING.

 

And, of Course, The Mr. East Lyme Competition. Nick Cancelmo won this year, however, there were some great contestants, Pater, Adam Pilarsky, Dan Gaffey, and Rafeed Hussein. Pater sent in a video entry, and his primary votes were from the team yelling "PATER" in the row behind us. Dan Gaffey is chief of the saga, and can drink Gatorade, quickly, apparently, and spit it out, in an impressively blue fashion. Adam Pilarsky, to everyone's amusement, tried to combine a little of every past winner's talent, but not, without help and humour. Rafeed Hussein is a local comic, and even had Miranda Muguvro dying, on stage. Which amused those of us who weren't already laughing, of which there were few. Nick Cancelmo got everyone to bow down to him when he won.



This about sums up the Spectacular. One word: HUGE. HUGE acts, HUGE local stars, HUGE talent. Emily Young, Hands Down, Miranda Muguvro, Anthony Patrone, Mr. East Lyme, and the to-die-for comedy. It was a great night, although tinged with sadness (and poor photography.) It definitely is a great night, but it also reminds everyone that graduation is coming soon. but it's a great night that ALWAYS sells out. I can't wait to go back next year, for my last spectacular...And my sister's first. Well, that's it for me.

ELHS Prom Fashion Show!

So ELHS holds a Prom Fashion Show Every Year. This year it was hosted by Vanessa Johns, and it was absolutely amazing. Miranda Muguvro, Grace Lada, Olivia Ferdon, my friend Kaley Roberts, and her boyfriend, Jack England, were all features.

This is Miranda Muguvro. She's SO nice. She reminds me a lot of Kiersten Sinko. She's really nice, and really talented. Drama, Morning show, and, apparently, Model. I was so grateful She took time to have her photo taken with me. I stand completely in awe of her, in general as a person, and in that dress. Stunning, is it not? Miranda is, like many people i consider friends, An amazing person all around.

So meet Kaley Roberts. Chief of the Saga, Drama Club Person, and Girlfriend to Jack England (left). She's a really nice person, friends to everyone, and really active in the School. You may remember from earlier posts that she's on the Saga, as well, which means she's also pretty patient, because I Love giving them a hard time. She looked STUNNING at the fashion show.

One girl even got asked to PROM. by her Boyfriend. Who was a model in the show. Can you say ROMANTIC? OMG it was so cute! I wish I had a boyfriend as amazing as that! Can't you just hear the aww's? There were quite a few, totally honest. I totally loved it myself, even if i'm not as girly a romantic as many others. It was so adorable

You may or may not recognize my partner Rebecca Willems, our German Exchange Student. We won JV jamboree together. Doesn't she look stunning? I love this girl! She was working the show last night.

Ah Grace Lada, Formerly of the Tennis Team, now a runner and model, apparently. She's such a great friend. She looked AMAZING on the runway in this dress. She was so patient before the show when i was following her around before the show, curious about everything that was going on. But hey, Martians are notoriously curious.
